I wish to greet our Distiguished Readers by presenting the double issue of our tenth volume. Although our publisher has made a plan to continue publishing Afrika Tanulmányok in an online format in the coming years, coupled with an English-language yearbook on an annual or biannual basis, we intend to come out with all the issues of 2016 in the print format, too. This present double issue offers a number of firm papers, all of which easily prove that African Studies can reveal the many faces of African reality in a neat interdisciplinary context. First, Viktor Marsai analyzes the 2016 Somali elections and the security situation in the region. Tamás Gerőcs looks at Russia’s re-engagements with Africa in light of a changing international arena. My own contribution deals with the historical background and magnitude of the land question in contemporary South Africa. Judit Kiss provides a substantial piece on the economic diversification drive in Botswana. Again, other additional colours are presented by photographer György Konkoly-Thege, who this time fills our Photo Report section with shots from his motorbike ride in Benin. András A. Gergely reviews the freshest Hungarianlanguage book on the Islamic State. I wish you all a great summer and enjoyable readings!
