Sustainability and System in Architecture

Abstract

Architecture is the human activity having the greatest impact on the planet. Compared to other areas of economy, the built environment is far away from being sustainable, although a few trends have moved in this direction. This paper examines the basic principles of sustainable buildings form system-theoretical point of view, emphasizes the problems of economic sustainability from the perspective of next generations and summarizes the general principles that can help to make the built environment more sustainable.
