Abstract

The study was a discussion material at workshop of South Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency. The workshop was organized in February 2012 with the title „Priorities in development policy of EU and Hungary 2014-2020 and key sectors in Transdanubian Region”. The aim of the study is to review the development priorities of planning period 2014-2020 in European Union, and to compare this to the guidelines of Hungarian policy then we analyse the current capability at NUTS 2 regional level (South Transdanubian Region). The method based on documents can be synthesized. Our conclusion is that the break through point can be the health industry, the environmental industries and the innovative and knowledge-based creative industries development based on local experts. In these areas significant support is expected and expansion of existing subsidies.
